By train:



Transpennine Express from Windermere to Oxenholme

Virgin Trains from Oxenholme to Edinburgh



The whole journey, including changing trains at Oxenholme, will take between two-and-a-half and three hours, and a Saver Return (not valid on certain peak trains) costs about £45.

I guess the answer would be by train from windemere on to the west coast mainline then the train to glasgow and edinburgh
