Me and my friends want to go on holiday to Edinburgh next year during the festival (August 2012). We will all be 16 and there will be 2-4 of us.
Does anyone have any tips on how to stay in Edinburgh cheaply?
Thanks.

As the other answer says, you will have difficulty getting accommodation unless one of you is over 18 and has a credit card.

However as you will be over 16, you can stay at a youth hostel, either sharing a dorm with strangers, or paying more to get a room just for your group. You will need to pay in advance, but if you are doing this several months in advance then you should be able to use a postal order if you can't get your parents to pay by card, and unlike a hotel, you don't need a card at check-in.

The SYHA have a hostel on Leith Walk, near the centre which is open all year:

A bed will cost £28 per night in August 2012

And another one which is only open in the summer (it is student accommodation):

I would suggest booking by phone rather than online, and doing it fairly soon, preferably well before Christmas (they will already have bookings for next August).

Edinburg justifies a while of your daily life to learn it and here is the place to start hotelbye . One of the areas wherever you can have an incredible day trip with the household is the Edinburgh Zoo. That zoo is the home to around 1,000 incredible creatures, including the UK's only big pandas. The Zoo is situated in beautiful parkland adjustments and involves wonderful flamingos, cute koalas and cheeky chimpanzees. Edinburg is not merely any town; Edinburg is the city to pay your household holyday, a holyday which will never be forgotten.

Your biggest problem will be accommodations. Unless you're 18 you can't get a hotel. As for cheap. Everything is more expensive during the festival season because of the demand. You will need a credit/debit card to check into the hotel. I hate to rain on your parade, but I don't see how it is possible at 16.
